Well, the Allen-Economy Stimulus Package for entrepreneurs started off with a bang, with Peter giving every individual a million bucks from the government. Makes sense when
you consider that it probably amounts to less than the proposed budget by a whole lot! I have no problem with wealth - I just don't think it's the government's job to make us wealthy. Entrepreneurs are pretty good at doing that themselves, thank you. What might be interesting is to have the government declare a one-year moratorium on taxes: income taxes, estate taxes, and capital gains tax. For one year you get to keep all the money you make--what a concept! Apparently, a lot of other people aren't happy about all the government spending and proposed taxes either because all over the country you're starting to see renactments of the Boston Tea Party. Dubbed the American Tea Party, it's designed to protest big government spending in a non-violent, non-partisan way. If you go to the site, you can even learn how to throw a party with your friends and join the fun.
But I digress. Why a vacation from taxes? Because you and the entrepreneurs in your community know best how to create new jobs and get your economy moving. You know exactly where and how your money needs to be spent. Maybe if you could keep all the money you earn for a year, you might just have enough to get that business going that you've always wanted to do. After all, the average business is started for under $25,000. What do you think? Good idea?
