I’m Kathleen Peters. I’m an economics professor, but unlike some economics professors, I don’t just talk about the subject for a living. I have succeeded as a venture capitalist, and I’m capable of discussing the subject in a manner that is academic as well as experiential. Too many venture capitalists do not have the grounding of a liberal arts education and many of them fail to see the broader societal implications of what they do for a living. Too few academics have the practical real-world experience that will allow them to truly teach others. It is my hope that I can serve as an interdisciplinary example.
